Registering your team for an event

This guide walks you through registering your team for an event on SportCerts.


Who this is for

Admin/Coaches who have a team set up on SportCerts and want to register that team for a tournament, league, or event hosted on the platform.


Before you start

You'll need:

  • Your SportCerts login

  • Your Code of Conduct signed (required before you can register for events)

  • Your team already created with players on the roster

  • The event's name or organization (so you can find it on the schedule)

  • A payment method, if the event charges a registration fee

For best results, your players should be Verified before the event's registration deadline. See the article on understanding player verification status.


Steps

Step 1 — Find the event

  1. Log in at sportcerts.com.

  2. Go to the public schedule (or click Events from your dashboard).

  3. Browse or search for the event you want to register for.

  4. Click the event to open its detail page.

Step 2 — Register your team

  1. On the event detail page, click Register Team.

  2. Choose the team you want to register from your list of teams.

  3. Confirm the team's roster looks correct.

  4. Complete any registration requirements requested by the event (division, age group, additional info, etc.).

  5. If the event charges a registration fee, complete the payment.

  6. Click Submit Registration.

You'll see a confirmation, and the event will appear on your team's dashboard as registered.


What happens after you register

  • Your team is added to the event roster. The event director can see your team and roster.

  • Your players are checked for eligibility. Only Verified players are typically eligible to play. Unverified, Pending, Expired, or Denied players may need to complete or renew verification before the event.

  • Your card packet becomes available. Once registered, you can download your team's card packet for the event. See the article on downloading your team's card packet.


Notes

  • Each event has its own registration deadline. Check the event page for specifics.

  • Each event sets its own fee (if any). SportCerts doesn't set event fees — those come from the event director.

  • You can register multiple teams for the same event if you coach more than one team eligible for it.

  • Your players need to be verified by the event's eligibility deadline. Verification can take 1–2 business days, so don't wait until the last minute.


Troubleshooting

The Register Team button isn't there. Either you haven't signed the Code of Conduct, or registration for this event hasn't opened yet. Check the event detail page for registration dates.

My team doesn't appear in the team selection list. The team may not be set up correctly — for example, if it doesn't have an organization assigned. Confirm your team is fully created and try again. If it still doesn't appear, contact support.

The event won't accept my registration. Common reasons:

  • The registration deadline has passed

  • Your team's age group doesn't match the event's eligibility

  • A required field is missing

  • A required player isn't verified

The error message on screen usually explains the reason. Contact the event director if it's unclear.

A player on my roster wasn't included in the registration. Most events automatically register all eligible players from your roster. If a player wasn't included, they may not be Verified yet. Check the player's verification status on your roster.

I registered the wrong team. Contact the event director to cancel the registration. Self-serve cancellation isn't currently available for most events.

I paid the registration fee but my registration didn't go through. Refresh your dashboard. If the registration still doesn't appear within a few minutes, contact support and include the date and time of payment.
