Managing multiple teams
This guide explains how to manage multiple teams under a single Admin/Coach account on SportCerts.
Who this is for
Admin/Coaches who coach more than one team — for example, a club coach with separate age groups, or a coach running both a travel team and a recreational team.
How multiple teams work on SportCerts
A single Admin/Coach account can manage as many teams as you need. There's no upgrade or extra account required.
Each team has its own:
Roster
Staff
Invite link
Event registrations
Card packet
But you have a single:
Coach login
Coach card (which lists all your teams)
Code of Conduct signature
Headshot
When you create or are assigned to a new team, it shows up on your coach dashboard alongside your other teams.
How to add another team
To create another team, follow the same steps as your first team. See the article on creating a team.
If an organization assigns you to a team they've created, the team will appear on your dashboard automatically.
How to switch between teams on your dashboard
Your coach dashboard lists all your teams. To work with a specific team:
Log in at sportcerts.com.
From your dashboard, click the team you want to manage.
You'll see that team's roster, staff, and event registrations.
To go back to the dashboard, click the dashboard or home link in the navigation.
Each team is managed independently. Changes you make on one team don't affect any other team.
What stays the same across teams
Some things are tied to your account, not your teams:
Your coach card is one card with all your teams listed on it. It updates automatically when you add or remove teams.
Your Code of Conduct signature is a one-time agreement that covers all your teams.
Your coach headshot is shared across all your teams' card packets.
Your email and password are shared.
What's separate per team
Some things are managed at the team level:
The roster — different teams have different players
The staff — assistant coaches and team managers are added per team (up to 8 per team)
The invite link — each team has its own
Event registrations — registering one team for an event doesn't register your other teams
Card packets — each team's packet is downloaded separately
Notes
No team count limit. SportCerts doesn't cap how many teams a single coach account can manage.
Cards and packets are per-team. Even though your coach card lists all your teams, when you download a card packet, it's specific to one team's roster.
Switching teams is fast. Click around your dashboard — there's no separate login or account switch needed.
Troubleshooting
A team I expect to see isn't on my dashboard. You may not have been assigned to it yet (if another organization is managing the team), or the team may have been archived. If you created the team yourself, refresh and check again. Contact support if it's still missing.
I'm seeing duplicate teams on my dashboard. This sometimes happens with migrated data. Don't try to fix it manually — contact support and we'll merge the duplicates.
I want to remove a team I'm no longer coaching. Contact support. Self-serve team removal isn't available, but support can detach the team from your account.
Changes I made on Team A are appearing on Team B. This shouldn't happen — teams are completely independent. If you're seeing this, refresh both pages and check again. Report it to support if it persists.
I want to copy a roster from one team to another. Roster copy isn't currently a self-serve feature. The standard approach is to send the new team's invite link to the same parents, who add their players to the new team.
FAQ
Is there an extra charge for managing multiple teams? No. Coaches don't pay anything to use SportCerts, regardless of how many teams they manage.
Can different teams have different organizations? Yes. Each team is assigned to its own organization independently. One coach can have teams across multiple organizations.
Do I need to sign the Code of Conduct again for each team? No. The Code of Conduct is signed once per coach, not per team.
Can I use the same staff (assistant coaches) on multiple teams? Yes — but you add them separately to each team. Staff aren't shared across teams automatically.
Can a single player be on multiple of my teams? Yes. A player can be on multiple rosters across different teams (yours or others). Each parent can use the relevant team's invite link to add their child to that team.
How do parents know which team is which? Use clear, specific team names (e.g., "Houston Hawks 12U Boys" rather than "Hawks"). When you send invite links, the link is tied to a specific team, so parents add their child to the right one.
Can I see all my teams' events in one place? Your coach dashboard shows your upcoming events across all your teams. Drill into a specific team for a team-by-team view.
What if I want my assistant coach to manage one of my teams independently? The assistant should sign up for their own Admin/Coach account, sign the Code of Conduct, and have the team transferred to them. Contact support to coordinate the transfer.
Can I archive a team without deleting it? Not currently. Teams stay on your dashboard. If you're done coaching a team, contact support to detach it.
