Forgot password and login help

This guide covers what to do when you can't log into SportCerts — whether you forgot your password, your login isn't working, or something else is going wrong.

If you're a migrated user logging in for the first time on the new platform, see the article on setting your password and logging in for the first time first.

Who this is for

Any Admin/Coach having trouble logging into SportCerts.

Most common issue: I forgot my password

This is the most common login problem. The fix is quick.

  1. Go to sportcerts.com/forgot-password.

  2. Enter the email address on file with your account.

  3. Click Send reset link.

  4. Check your inbox for a "Password reset" email from SportCerts (sender: noreply@sportcerts.com).

  5. Click the link in the email.

  6. Set a new password.

  7. You'll be logged in.

The reset link expires after a short window for security. If you don't click it within a few hours, request a new one.

Other login problems

My password isn't being accepted

  • Make sure caps lock isn't on

  • Check for extra spaces if you copy-pasted

  • Try typing it manually

If you're sure the password is right and it still won't work, reset it using the steps above. Passwords on SportCerts are stored encrypted — even SportCerts staff can't tell you what your password is.

I'm being logged out repeatedly

This is usually a browser issue:

  • Clear cookies for sportcerts.com

  • Try a different browser

  • Disable browser extensions that block cookies (some ad blockers and privacy extensions break authentication)

  • Try a private/incognito window to rule out extensions

If logout-then-back-in fixes it but it happens again, contact support.

I can't remember which email I used

Try the email address where you used to receive SportCerts communications, including any welcome or password reset emails. If you're stuck, contact support and we can look up your account.

"Email not found" when trying to reset

This means either:

  • The email isn't on file (typo, or you used a different one originally)

  • Your account hasn't been migrated or set up yet

Try a different email address you might have used. If you're sure the email should be on file, contact support.

I changed my email and now I can't log in

Email changes require contacting support — we don't allow self-serve email changes because email is your login. If you somehow changed the email on file and can't log in with the new one, contact support and we'll restore access.

I'm getting an "account locked" or similar error

This is unusual. Contact support and include any error message you're seeing.

When to use a different browser or device

If logging in just isn't working on your usual browser, try:

  1. A different browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge all work

  2. A private/incognito window — rules out cookies and extensions

  3. A different device — phone vs. computer, or vice versa

If logging in works on one but not another, the broken one usually has a cookie or extension issue. Clear cookies and try again.

Notes

  • SportCerts uses email and password only — no Google, Apple, or Facebook login at this time.

  • Reset links expire within a few hours for security. Always use the most recent one.

  • There's no separate "change password" flow — the forgot password flow is what you use to update your password too.

  • There's no two-factor authentication option currently. Your account security depends on a strong password and protecting your email.

Troubleshooting

I didn't get the password reset email. Check your spam or junk folder. Wait at least 5 minutes — emails can take a moment to arrive. If it's still missing, the email address you entered may not match an account on file. Try a different email or contact support.

The reset link in my email doesn't work. Reset links expire. Go to sportcerts.com/forgot-password and request a fresh one. Always click the most recent link in your inbox.

I clicked the reset link but the page is blank. Try a different browser. If you copied the link from your email, make sure you copied the entire link (including any long string of characters at the end).

I reset my password but still can't log in. Double-check the email you're using on the login page matches the one you reset. Try copying and pasting the password instead of typing. If it still won't work, request another reset.

Logging in works in one browser but not another. The broken browser probably has cookies or extensions blocking the login. Clear cookies for sportcerts.com or try a private/incognito window.

I see my dashboard for a second, then get kicked back to the login page. This is a session issue. Clear cookies for sportcerts.com, log in again, and avoid switching tabs during login. Contact support if it persists.

FAQ

Will SportCerts ever ask me for my password by email? No. SportCerts will never email or call asking for your password. If you get a message like that, ignore it and report it to support.

How often do I need to change my password? There's no required password change schedule. Use a strong, unique password and you're set.

Can I have someone else reset my password for me? No — for security, only the email holder can reset the password. Reset emails go to the email on file.

What's a strong password? At least 8 characters, mixing letters, numbers, and symbols. Don't reuse a password from another site, and don't use anything obvious (your name, your team's name, "password123", etc.).

What if I think someone else has accessed my account? Reset your password immediately, then contact support. We can review activity and help secure your account.

Can I log out remotely from a device I don't have access to? Not directly. The fastest way is to reset your password — most active sessions get invalidated when the password changes.

Can I add a backup email for password recovery? Not currently. SportCerts uses one email per account.
