Creating your Team Admin/Coach account

This guide walks you through signing up for SportCerts as an Admin/Coach for the first time.

Who this is for

  • New coaches who don't have a SportCerts account yet

  • Anyone setting up an Admin/Coach account for the first time

If you already have a parent account on SportCerts and you also coach a team, don't create a second account. You can add an Admin/Coach role to your existing parent account instead — see the article on adding a coach role to a parent account.

If you got a welcome email about the new SportCerts, your account already exists — see the article on setting your password and logging in for the first time.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • An email address you check regularly

  • About 5 minutes for the full sign-up and onboarding flow

  • A photo of yourself for your coach card (you can also add this later)

Steps

Step 1 — Start your account

  1. Go to sportcerts.com.

  2. Click Sign Up (or Get Started).

  3. Choose Admin/Coach when asked what kind of account you want.

Step 2 — Enter your account details

  1. Enter your first name and last name.

  2. Enter your email address. Use one you check regularly — this is where SportCerts will send password resets, event notifications, and support replies.

  3. Create a password. At least 8 characters, mixing letters, numbers, and symbols.

  4. Click Continue or Create Account.

Step 3 — Sign the Admin/Coach Code of Conduct

After your account is created, you'll be taken into onboarding. The first step is signing the Code of Conduct.

  1. Read the full Code of Conduct.

  2. Type your full name in the signature field.

  3. Click Agree and Sign.

This is a one-time agreement that's required before you can manage teams or register for events. See the article on signing the Code of Conduct for more.

Step 4 — Upload your coach headshot

You'll be prompted to add a photo of yourself.

  1. Tap Upload Headshot.

  2. Choose a photo from your device.

  3. Use the crop tool to position your face inside the circle.

  4. Tap Save.

You can skip this step and add it later, but a reminder banner will show on your dashboard until you do. See the article on uploading your coach headshot for more.

Step 5 — Land on your coach dashboard

Once you finish onboarding, you'll be taken to your coach dashboard. From here you can:

  • Create your first team

  • Invite parents to add players to your roster

  • Register your team for events

  • View your digital coach card

Notes

  • Your email is your login. Make sure it's one you'll have access to long-term. SportCerts uses it for password resets and all event notifications.

  • You don't need to verify your email before using your account.

  • One account per coach. If you also coach for another organization, the same account works — you'll just have multiple teams under the same login.

Troubleshooting

I get "Email already in use" when I sign up. You may already have a SportCerts account under that email — possibly migrated from the old platform. Try going to sportcerts.com/forgot-password and requesting a reset. If that doesn't help, contact support.

My password isn't accepted. Make sure it's at least 8 characters. Some special characters may not be allowed depending on your browser. Try a different combination of letters, numbers, and basic symbols.

I clicked Sign Up but nothing happens. Try refreshing or switching browsers. SportCerts works best in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

I picked the wrong role during sign-up. Contact support. We can help you switch your account's primary role.

I closed the browser before finishing onboarding. No problem — log back in and you'll pick up where you left off. You won't be able to manage teams or register for events until onboarding is complete (specifically, until the Code of Conduct is signed).

FAQ

Is it free to sign up as an Admin/Coach? Yes. Coaches don't pay anything to use SportCerts. Verification fees are paid by parents, per child, per year.

Can I sign up with a Google or Facebook account? Not at this time. SportCerts uses email and password only.

Can I use a personal email or do I need a club/team email? Either works. Personal emails are fine.

I'm signing up but I don't coach a team yet — should I wait? You can sign up first and create your team later. Or wait until you're ready to set things up. Either is fine.

Can I be a coach for multiple teams or multiple organizations? Yes. One coach account can manage multiple teams across multiple organizations.

Do I need to be approved by an organization before I can sign up? No. You can sign up independently. Organizations may invite you to coach a specific team after the fact, but you don't need permission to create your account.

What happens to my account if I stop coaching? Your account stays active. You can leave teams, archive teams, or just stop using the platform — nothing is automatically deleted. If you want your account fully deleted, contact support.

Is my information shared with anyone? Your name and headshot appear on your coach card, which event staff and parents on your team can see. Your email is not visible to other users by default.
