Your digital coach card explained
This guide explains what your digital coach card is, where to find it, and how to use it.
Who this is for
Every Admin/Coach on SportCerts has a digital coach card. This guide is for any coach who wants to understand how the card works or how to access it.
What is a coach card?
Your coach card is a digital ID that confirms you're a registered Admin/Coach on SportCerts. It includes:
Your name
Your headshot
The teams you coach
A status indicator showing your account is active and the Code of Conduct is signed
Event staff use it at check-in to confirm you're an authorized coach for your team.
When and where you'll use it
Event check-in. Many events ask coaches to show their card at check-in alongside player cards.
In a card packet. When you download your team's card packet for an event, your coach card is included alongside the player cards.
On your dashboard. Your card is visible from your coach dashboard at any time.
How to view your coach card
Go to sportcerts.com and log in.
From your coach dashboard, click Coach Card (or go directly to sportcerts.com/coach/card).
Your card displays on screen.
You can pull this up on your phone at events for staff to view directly.
How to download or print your coach card
From your coach card page, click Download PDF or Print.
The PDF saves to your device, ready to print or share.
The downloaded card matches what's on screen and is sized to print on a standard letter sheet.
What makes your card "active"
For your card to show as active, you need:
A signed Code of Conduct. See the article on signing the Code of Conduct.
A coach headshot uploaded. See the article on uploading your coach headshot.
At least one team assigned to you.
If any of these are missing, your card will show with a placeholder photo or a "needs setup" indicator until you complete the missing piece.
Notes
Your card updates automatically. When you add a new team, sign a new agreement, or update your headshot, the card refreshes.
One card per coach. You don't have a separate card per team — your one card lists all the teams you coach.
The card doesn't expire as long as your Code of Conduct is signed and your account is active.
Troubleshooting
My card shows a placeholder where my photo should be. You haven't uploaded a headshot yet. See the article on uploading your coach headshot.
My card says my account is incomplete. Either the Code of Conduct isn't signed, or there's another setup step missing. Check your dashboard for prompts.
My team isn't showing on the card. Confirm the team is assigned to your account. If you were just added to a team, refresh the page. If it still doesn't appear, contact your team's organization or SportCerts support.
The Download PDF button isn't working on my phone. Try a different browser. iOS Safari and Chrome both support the download. If it still won't work, log in from a desktop or laptop and download from there.
My card looks blurry when printed. Use the Download PDF option rather than a screenshot of the screen. PDFs print at full resolution.
FAQ
Do I need to print my coach card for every event? Most events accept the card on your phone. Printing is optional, but some events prefer or require a printed copy — check with the event director.
Can someone else see my coach card? Event staff can view your card at check-in. Parents on your team can see your name and headshot on the team's staff list, but they don't see the full card by default.
Why does my coach card matter? It's how event staff confirm you're an authorized coach for your team. Without a valid coach card, you may not be allowed on the field, sideline, or bench at some events.
What if my photo on the card looks outdated? Upload a new headshot from your coach profile. Your card updates immediately.
Can my assistant coaches and team staff have cards too? Yes. Each staff member gets their own card once added to your team. See the article on adding staff to your team.
My card is missing a team I coach. How do I fix it? If you created the team yourself, it should appear automatically. If another organization assigned you, ask them to confirm the assignment. SportCerts support can also help.
Is there an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet version of the card? Not yet. For now, the card is viewable in your browser and downloadable as a PDF. Wallet integration is on the roadmap.
